Europapa & Presentation Techniques
For the past couple of days I've watch the Eurovision song Europapa again and again, disecting it, listen to others disect it. From various perspectives that song is SO good !
I saw about 9 presentation techniques you can use in your presentations as well
Fun - you can't deny that guy is fun to watch. It makes you smile and smiles bring endorfines, which bring you in a good state. In presentations you can joke, goof around or even look funny (to make a point)
Positive rhythm - If you talk too slow your audience attention goes away. If you talk to fast, you lose them too. Maintaining a natural rhythm is good, but not too slow
Seeding - throughout the song seeds were planted, references to what's about to come. If your presentation is well designed, you do that too. First telling there's an offer at the end, and then reference to it or what's inside it during the entire presentation. But subtle. Otherwise it's a blatant sales pitch
Story at the end. You see it more and more in presentations too, after the CTA a closing story to connect and walk with them figuratively speaking to the table at the end of the room
Power of repetition. The Chorus in songs. In presentations you can do this by referencing to something that's previously said, making your presentation feel more like a whole of interconnective information, and not just separate blocks of information.
Build up. The top 1000 songs all have a musical buildup, you feel the energy of the song stacking. With Techno and DJ music, this is certainly the case, at the hight of the buildup there's a penetrating beat and everyone starts jumping to release the energy. In presentations you have a buildup too, especially in sales pitches: emotional close, then logical close then FOMO close. So choose your secrets and segments in the right order. Take your audience on a journey and use storytelling to build up the energy, so that the only release they have is your offer
Variety. The jewels of music have slow pieces and fast pieces. In presentations you have this too. Your stories should not all be drama and how you overcome it. Make some pieces light and use a funny picture (funny but relevant). Break your presentations up in letting the audience interact instead of just you talking. A lot of things you can do to bring in variety. For the audience it's like taking a fresh breath
Dare to be different. Very scary but very rewarding in terms of people remembering you. Could be in clothes, variety, energy.
Enjoy. Very important. Although it can be nerve wrecking to give a presentation, try to enjoy yourself. You are doing what 75% of the population is afraid of. Breath, relax your face and smile
Have you watched the song (link in comments) ? What other presentation techniques did you see that you can use on a stage ?
